VOLUNTEER

Volunteer opportunities:

volunteer opportunities
Urban ministry

Each year, the Greensboro Young Lawyers Section meets to prepare and serve dinner to those in need at Greensboro Urban Ministry's Potter House.   If you are interested, please feel free to email info@greensboroYLS.org with any questions.  This is a long-standing holiday tradition of the Greensboro YLS, and we need your support to keep it going.

Book buddies

Book Buddies is a volunteer program that pairs lawyers with classrooms at Hampton Elementary (pre-K through second grade) to read aloud to the class for thirty minutes to an hour.  You’ll work with one classroom during the school year.  At the end of the year, we also provide a book for each kid in each classroom that we serve.  For more information, please click on the Book Buddies tab at the top menu.

backpack beginnings

At Backpack Beginnings we help stuff “comfort” backpacks for Guilford County kids.  This is a great opportunity to serve the community and develop friendships with local attorneys.

ask-a-lawyer day

As part of the annual statewide Ask-A-Lawyer Day, the Young Lawyers Section is hosting an Ask-A-Lawyer Day event that provides local young lawyers with the opportunity to interact with members of the community and to provide local residents with free legal advice.
